Boktorva SS - gig report

Date and time have been arranged. Pack my things like a lunatic and catch-up the subway. My driver and dear companion through the next two days d-beat odyssey, d-bill has been late so i got the chance and enjoyed a cold coffee. As we finally hit the road listening to some old good Pink's tunes (u & ur hand etc) i couldn't imagine what i will go through the next hours but time were our ally...

Arriving on the university of patra was a pain in the ass but finally we did it, even if we have not seen the first two bands. My Turn were on stage and played really rad. Short songs, nice black flag's riffs with a positive feedback, so i didn't miss the chance to do some backing vocals on "can't tell no-one" cover. Deathbed who?

Now, let's get to the point. Seeing some familiar faces going in the first line for the upcoming war i fueled my throat with some stinking fix beer and got my place στα χαρακωματα του βουκολικου πολεμου.
The four horsemen of the crustcore apocalypse occupied stage with their axes well sharpen. Wearing wigs, they started to slaughter our ears and the only words that can describe the feelings brings in my mind the bay-area thrash of '80s : "On through the mist and the madness, We are trying to get the message to you. Metal Militia. Metal Militia.". Soon enough, we - the fans(lol) -  hit the stage and every-single-one member of the band was upon our backs, we lift them again and again while guitar solos and drum blast-beats hit back on us like tornados. We tried to lift also the drummer up but the only think we managed was to destroy his drumkit, while he was trying to play his hi-hat with his body turned upside-down. A masked-man attacked midas on his guitar solo number 1342516278115, hitting him hard on his stomach. He only made his solos be meaner and eviler. Agathocles and Extreme noise terror covers just made the pain lust (and last) longer. The band was tight as good as a pair of denim jeans on Lemmy's legs. I have to admit that my vocals on cripple commander were shit mainly to the admire i have to the bassist of the band - known as Machete - so i lost my words, shit happens. Great gig and great people.
Conclusion : First gig for such a great band in twelve years, and propably we'll have to wait another twelve to see them again. Support the band, drink whiskey.

Boktorva bhq - H ora tou maga (The time of the dude)

Keeping the flag of humour-crust high for over a decade this platinum crustcore heroes are back, or not? Right, the night avengers of greek crust are back on track with a new seveninch from the past!!!
The holy trinity of markos (chief in god's service - not knight in satan's service), midas (kotsovolos gone loose seller) and alex (i don't catch him on my mouth), hit the road again with six anthems of their early carrier that only now sees the light of day (or i must say the light of darkness!!!???). These lunatics have been posted here before (check their first lp here), and the urban legend says that in their latest-technology-accomplished laboratories well known as Technologische Enstitut Kauf Frauerbauch Boktorva CO. they have already recorded and mixed four more albums to end their trilogy of vinyl releases, released as cds and don't put me in the sad position to explain what the band thinks the cd is... Way heavier than Fall of efrafa (that also have released a trilogy of three albums - what a loser band, three albums for a trilogy, LOSERS), boktorva's sound-steel sounds like a steel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lyrics are way more serious than their previous releases with song-titles like "i like to eat" and "fuck (off) my faith" to represent with a clear view the "going-on" in the greek suburbs of the greek borough... Hailing from mesologi, and now from athens and aigio, and mixing their influences of pure old-school hip-hop alongside singapoorean grind-harsh techno they sound like "moutherfaaacker tsoutsouroumoumou"!!!
Rumours wants them to already have three different contract-options from nine different major labels such as Relapse, Music for idiots, Guinea aplle kids records, Bannana kai bacardi productions, kapari is the law recs and markos favourite pagoto vanilia biskoto me mous sokola records (from luxemburg) to joust / tilt / tourney for the signature-capture of this dog-eating band. The offers are incredible with a tour alongside mastodon, rihanna and kostas bigalis to be already scheduled, so stay tuned for dates (another urban-legend says that the tour will start from tei igoumenitsas with support band Dirty Rotten Michigan and will end with a secret gig in a basement somewhere between fylis kai smirnis gonia in athens on a sunday's lunchtime under the name "with our stomachs full of vegan meat")...

Boktorva bhq - me thymase re file

Boktorva bhq was a band formed back in 1998 in the exotic city of mesologi, greece by three insane (as you can hear by their music quality) individuals who had been in the ghost-town (messologi) for their studies... and they had (not) destroyed several live stages for almost two years... The band was on hiatus untill... one day! They took the decision to record the material that they used to play 10 years before...
Let's take it step by step :
Boktorva consists of thrre guys well-known in the greek d.i.y scene : markos (schwartz and anger, drums), midas aka DropVirus666 (bass, antimob) and alex (something, Les skartoi - he is not so famous. hehe), but boktorva are NOT only these guys... Vocal duties has been equally shared by my beloved D-Bill ("memories fired-up, the first lad in tsamiko's dance"), gantzos (gadget / keitzer fan and ultra-magneto-guitar-hero) and zahos, jack (Despite everything) as well (and other two guys that i don't know and dbill forgot to mention)...
Music wise, the band plays a combo of 90's crust alongside crazy vocal changes and stupid guitar solo parts...
Some songs are old like a good bottle of wine, but they have also a new song "meta th boba (after the bomb)" that fucking rips (gantzos vocals are straight from hell), but my personal favourite is (with no competition) : "cripple commander" that has this opening snake-stoner riff and the lyrics start something like that : "Roll like a snake, see if you can ride a bike!!!!" lol, lol, lol, lol............ You can call it also surreal crustcore... HEHEHEHE!
The whole recording process and the mastering was made by the band itself so the cost was up to 0 $...

Ολόκληρος ο κοsμoς του αυγοτάραχου χωρίζεται σε δύο trigwnous επιμήκεις και κυλινδρικούς tetragonismenous λοβούς, οι οποίοι καταλαμβάνουν το μισό περίπου σώμα του ψαριού,alla kai to upoloipo miso, που τα περιέχει, περιβαλλόμενα από λεπτό υμantα. Με super ειδική τεχνική οi Boctorva bhq αφαιρoun με τα δάκτυλα twn podiwn τουs το avgotaraxo έξω από τη σπλαχνική κοιλότητα tou fasistikou psariou απ'όπου θα πρέπει κανείς να ξέρει πολύ καλά τί κάνει, kai pou vadizoume, έτσι ώστε να μην "χυθεί" το avgotaraxo απο το ψάρι και καταστραφεί o planhths olos. Στη συνέχεια το αυγοτάραχο ξεπλένεται με ouiski, που είναι ο πιο κατάλληλος και υγιεινός τρόπος, και «παστώνεται» με χονδρό paidi.
