175 grams - self titled 7''

As d-bill is too lazy to put his own ass down and write some "articles" for k-town hardcore as he was promised, i grab the chance to post an amazing 7inch from the late 90's (i'm not so sure for the year, if anyone knows, share your knowledge)...

175 grams was an anarchist hardcore punk band from wellesley, massachusetts. This 7'' is one of my favourite 'cos was a total "single-hit" for my highschool years, absolute played ass-kicking hardcore punk... Imagine aus-rotten with no "i'm-reading-a-newsparer" lyric-sheet but anarcho-straighttotheheart stuff, with solid (and clear) bass lines to be over the top, angry vocals against state and capitalism, and "i'll-do-a-drum-change-if-you-pay-me-1-billion-dollars" drum hitting... Also i can call them alt t.c of usa 'cos they play(ed) my favourite mid-tempo hardcore punk style and they remind me the greeks a lot (alt t.c have 175grams on their thanx list at their split with 20 minutes de chaos, coincidence once more?)
This 7'' has been recorded, mixed, mastered and engineered at rodent popsicle studios by bill (popsicle / toxic narcotic) and has been released by rodent popsicle records alongside crowd control recordings (the band's own label)...
In this recording 175 grams was (were) :
ben-guitar / mike (not me)-drums / peteness-bass / steve sarcasm-vocals..
If anyone knows if these guys did other bands after the disband of 175grams please inform me, thanx...
ass-kicking hardcore-punk for life...

This change starts now!

Steve Sarcasm has been in Ampere since 2002 or 03. They have a lot of records, and are very different from 175.

This is quite old now, but I'm so happy to see this now. I played guitar for 175g after their previous guitarist decided to go to business school and say "fuck off" to the ideals.

Stephen went on to play in Montcalm and Ampere. Ampere are still touring.
