Once upon a time was a band called Jeniger. Jeniger released two 7'' and a lp and then disbanded (i think). After that some guys from jeniger formed the band ZEROID...
Zeroid was a band from germany, and besides this lp have also released a lp back in 2001 and a 10'' in 2002 (that you can buy it easily as one cd - see below for labels)...
This album is the final one 'cos later the band fell in hiatus...
Dark and metallic crust is the sound pollution that these guys offer with their arms aloft. Down-tuned guitars and bass lines alongside fast drumming, some blast-beats every now and then to make the whole mix unpredictable and weirdly catchy with fucking solid, heavy and metallic production (or is the mastering?)... Not the band that dbill would like, but all of you, the dark hardcore / crust maniacs with the from ashes rise posters above your mama's pillow will get little secret orgasms for about half an hour from these dreadlocking crusties...
All of you (like me of course) that bands like schifosi, november 13th or even rubbish heap drives you crazy and a passion to buy some gasoline gallons and start some play-off arson grows bigger and bigger would not be disappointed, believe me...
And to make my own advertisement : You know that this blog posts no SHIT !!!
This cd has been released by three labels : Unsociable / per koro records / totenschiff and it's still available...

Dark metallic hardcore is kind of a weird genre for me...Not because i don't like it at all, but mostly because most of the bands don't keep the punk background on the way they work their tunes....Too muck emphasis on the heavy sound, lots of cliche chugga-chugga guitar parts, words that are said just to said...''shallow'' is a word that would describe what i think of most of the bands of this style.
But...there are exceptions to the rule (as always). Zeroid can fit into one of these exceptions. Dark intense hardcore, that leans heavily towards the atmospheric side of things creating a suffocating feeling. Kinda like the audio equivalent of a Kafka (the author...not the band) book (maybe ''the Trial'' or ''The Sinic wall and other short stories'')...They don't let the production do the talking for them, instead the band structures really good pieces equally fast and slow, almost mud sludgy-like. Screams from a sore throat, nice unmelodical-melodies from the guitar, part blast beats part slow pounds from the drummer, and fuzzy heavy bass lines supporting the main musical idea.
This doesn't sound like the His Hero Is Gone (aka. destructor as fuck!) stuff, nor the Jeniger (aka. destructor no.2) releases, from the ashes of which Zeroid formed. I'd say they sound similar (no copy stuff) with Paranoia Keeps Crawling, Arsen (also released by Unsociable-Hate records as Zeroid) and The Last Mile.
