As you imagine, dbill has been kidnapped by the ultimate face of evil aka magneto. the police (fuck them either way) investigation still is on point zero, but as i suspect, he now propably is the new experiment in the boktorva's secret lab, in a cold, lonely place that civilians call (with terrifying disgust) moschato, a place that only vultures and cagoors (not kangaroos, don't be confused) can live... may god rest his lonely boxing gloves...
So, i have once more to get the snake outta it's hole... I thought that would be a good idea if i write dbill to my old-shoes gloom, fuck the k-town series and post the great Hitler died from tzatziki, but then i thought that i must continue dbill's legacy and post something danish and good...
As i am not the biggest owner of k-town knowledge, to make my life easy, i thought "post no hope for the kids, they rock", and...
No hope for the kids was a punk band from denmark formed by members of amdi petersens arme, asbest, hul, snipers, the natzees and young wasteners (i can continue...), they released two seveninches and one lp (and you'll get'em all, if you press the download button) and when they disbanded one billion bands came out of their ashes (to name a few : gorilla angreb. hjerte stop, pj bonnemann solo project and many more. check here for more infos)...
Now, i have heard too much descriptions of what really No hope for the kids sounds (a)like, and i have to talk my own bullshitting... If you like the old-school hardcore punk, melodic with clear, expressive vocals, mid paced drum-hitting going fast, heavy bass lines, catchy guitar works with a hard-rock attitude / playing, alongside lyric themes about depression, war and death (all written with a personal view, not the dis-clone-war-thing) then this is your new favourite band. The 7'' das reich is my personal favourite with the song secret police to be in my head for a couple of months (and i think : if i ever make a comp. cd to go for a car-trip, i'll use this track after motorhead's vibrator for sure)...
Last words : I have read an interview of these folks back in the day and i thought that they were total assholess (pathetic and apolitical = assholes), but then, maybe it's just the kind of danish humour that i can not get... The music fucking rules...
-mikxxx from the dusty surface of earth, called centre of athens...
angels of destruction
It took me sometime, but i managed to escape from the horrid terror, also known as ''Das Boktorva Bhq Laboratories''... dogde through some mean man-eating aligators of the infamous ''Rema Moschatou'', home of turbo sewer mutants, and could finally catch the extremely late 218 buss from the place of my capture, back to civilazation...what an adventure...more frustrating than trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with your KTM bike....Also during my ecape i lost an arm, and my left leg so writing this review, as well as playing for Antimob, will be done slower!!
It also took me some time to get into No hope for the Kids, but once getting introduced properly (i.e. sitting down and listening to them!) i found out a great band full of moody melodic guitar lines, giving a result that travels you through time....what a gay review!!!!!
Anyway, both their 7inchers and their LP totally rock your world, while the WWII lyrical theme creates a numb atmosphere...especially the song Kolyma, which refers to the russian Kolyma region, where thousands of political prisoners slaved to death by the russian (far from) communist tyrany of Stalin...
Unlike Mike, i have already made a compilation which includes the song ''Secret police'' from the ''Das Reich'' 7'', and it is just after Gulag's (old greek punk band) ''ethismos'', but before Rudimentary Peni, Bombenalarm and Judgement.
