Yes, yes, yes, finally i have the pleasure to post (maybe) the best hardcore band from greece...
Rajahtaa coming out of kavala, greece (and also share(d) members with Satan's reject, assymetrh apeilh etc)to make you cum around, in circles, etc...
I think you've already get the point about the name (total RATTUS worshippers ("wc rajahtaa")), and some explanations are : "go off", "detonate" or "blow off"...
This demo was recorded around 2006 and hail 4 rajahtaa tracks and SIX COVERS (by bands such as rattus, kaaos, mob-47 etc)... A blistering combination of swedish and finnish hardcore of the mid eighties...
I have to confess a sin, father (D-BILL)... I like the covers much more than the original ones...
With perfect "finnish" vocals, terrific drum parts and steady bass-guitar this north-greek beast creates a musical feast that nothing can or could be compared. Also sing-a-longs works terrific in the whole pack and makes you wanna arrange a secret flat party alongside d-bill and other stupid friends (of him) and drink beers 'till your speakers be damaged and probably die by electrocution... the covers makes the songs sounds like has been written 2 weeks ago and not 25 years... THEIR TRACKS ARE ALSO GREAT...
And as the band wrote in the booklet (if you can say it "booklet") : "this demo was recorded for the love of 80's scandi hardcore"
It's a shame that they no longer exist... R.I.P
Nothing to lose (download)
(P.S. antimob's explanations about their tracks from split with burial. is here)
Hour of the wolverine:
FUCK...i wish this greek (or should i say scandi-bastard?!) jewel was released on vinyl for the whole world to hear and charise!!!
Rajahtaa hail from the finnish colony, Kavala, and totally fucking shred. period.
I'm not jocking, these guys here have put out one of my favourite greek releases and it's a bloody shame that its a cd-r...listening to this raw masterpiece makes you wish you had a DIY record label, just so that you can release it yourself!!
As you may have noticed by reading Mike's review this cd-r consists of six classic suomi punk covers (Terveet Kadet, Destrucktions, Kaaos... to name a few) and a swedish tornado (''stop the slaughter'' by the nordic howling wind called MOB 47), alongside four of their own tunes. Needless to say, the covers are by far played ten times better than the originals (i know this statement might sound blasphemic, but trust me...they are!!!), and their own audio efforts seem even better than the tracks covered...!!! Total punk annihilation...
I'm not going to bust anyones balls any more saying how good this band is...if you don't get it you are stupid...plain and clear!
..don't think the band called it quits. I believe they will get back on their destc(k)tive path once they overcome some pretty ugly obstacles, that have come to their way...
P.S. Polu kaloi kai live, me to menu na periexei ''skonakia'' sta finlandika, kai dunamikes ''e3odous''...me ton ena ek twn tessarwn na koimatai panw ston enisxuth tou mpasou stis 6 ta 3hmerwmata, anagkazontas thn mpanta na stamathsei to kopanhma...punk kai alhteia!!!!
